FRACTURES

Foot fractures can be caused by trauma, including falls, accidents, and falling objects. They can also be caused by repetitive use of the foot or bone weakness
such as osteoporosis. The sooner a fracture is treated, the better the outcome and the faster the recovery. We recommend seeking professional treatment at the
earliest sign of a fracture. Signs to look for include pain, swelling, bruising, new protrusions or bumps, and difficulty putting weight on the foot.

The most important treatment for a fracture is immobilization. An X-ray is utilized to determine if a fracture will heal on its own or if it will need help healing such as surgery or a bone stimulator. Some fractures will require follow-up X-rays to confirm healing.
